About Us

Yeovil Chiropractic Clinic was established in 1987 and purchased by Antoinette Young in 1992. Within six years, the clinic had outgrown its Preston Road premises and relocated to a former guest house in Sherborne Road where the owners' flat and nine guest rooms provided the necessary room for expansion into a major health clinic.

The additional room also enabled Antoinette's eldest son, Martin, to join the practice along with registered homeopath, Mr N Marar and Lisa Kirk-Horrell, a Tisserand-trained aromatherapist and remedial masseuse.

The clinic continued to expand rapidly and, by June 1999, had developed a Spinal Rehabilitation Unit, then South Somerset's only specialist orthopaedic rehabilitation centre specialising in the treatment of muscular damage following whiplash and other spinal injuries. Elizabeth Underwood, a fully qualified rehabilitation specialist, supervises patients using specialist equipment to stabilize and improve their conditions and oversees the courses of exercises prescribed by the Chiropractors.

1999 also witnessed the opening of a second clinic in a converted Victorian warehouse in Victoria Mews, Crewkerne. The additional patient capacity soon necessitated additional chiropractic support, and David Palmer joined the team in 2001, like Martin, splitting his time between the two different practices. Podiatrist Robin Back also joined at this time, working closely with the chiropractors in cases where foot and back problems are closely interlinked, as did homeopath Nabib Marrar.

The final member of the team, Amy Burn arrived in 2007, shortly before the purchase of what would become the Beaminster clinic.

The clinics currently employ 12 support staff and have over 9,000 current patients on their registers, providing in excess of 400 treatments every week.

In 2006, the clinic was one of the first to receive the College of Chiropractor's Patient Partnership Quality Mark for its high standard in meeting patient expectations in the following areas:
